Maigh Cuilinn GAA has etched its name into the annals of Connacht club football, securing a historic victory in the 2007 Connacht Club Intermediate Football Championship.
The newly crowned Galway Intermediate champions embarked on their provincial campaign with a comprehensive win over Monivea/Abbey in the county final, setting the stage for a memorable run.
In the Connacht semi-final, they faced a stern test from Roscommon champions St. Dominic’s. However, Maigh Cuilinn rose to the occasion, delivering a clinical performance to secure a resounding 3-12 to 0-08 victory at Pearse Stadium.
The decider saw them travel to the hallowed turf of MacHale Park to face Mayo champion Ballintubber. Maigh Cuilinn displayed a blend of skill and tenacity in a pulsating encounter, ultimately emerging triumphant with a 3-11 to 1-08 scoreline.
